Written, directed and produced in New Zealand, Settling is a South Pacific Pictures production, led by actors Pax Assadi and Hannah Marshall of Raised by Refugees’ fame. The romantic comedy series follows two disillusioned 30-somethings as they carry out their teenage pact – a platonic marriage – to satisfy family and society’s expectations.
The format for this inaugural television series involves off-screen narration and the producers selected Rainn Wilson to provide the narrator’s voice and chose The Sound Palace to record his narration. The writers, lead actors, and sound supervisor all had visual and audio connection to Rainn during the recording process via a Zoom link.
We completed the first 6 episodes of recording, over a period of 3 days, finishing on May 12, 2026.
