The Ramifications band chose The Sound Palace Studio B to record their music since the studio offers a huge live room of approximately 4000 sq. ft and allowed the members to record in the same room. A short video can be seen HERE.
Isolation of the amplifiers was achieved through tunnels of gobos. The drum kit, also in the same room, was placed about 25 feet back to maximize its respective isolation with only minimal bleed from the other sound sources.
The studio’s 56 channel Soundcraft Series Five analog console served as the front end of the recording process with each channel mirrored in the Pro Tools HD recording rig. Immediate playback through QSC loudspeakers allowed the band to instantly hear how the sounds translate. Final mixdown will take place later in Studio A’s control room.
